Kyūsaku Yumeno

Japanese writer, author of detective short stories and novels. He debuted in 1926 with a short story called The Spirit Drum. He stood out from others with his avant-guarde style and a fresh approach towards crime novel mixed with fantasy and grotesque. In 1935 he published his masterpiece – a monumental novel called Dogura Magura, which, to this day is thought to be one of the most intriguing and mysterious works of Japanese literature. Kyūsaku Yumeno is his pen name. In the author’s homeland it means someone who keeps on walking with his head in the clouds.
