The authors of the Hai! series of flashcards for learning Japanese syllabaries have also prepared a guide to kanji ideograms. Hai!ku Japanese Kanji is published as a book, with great care: in hardcover and on ecological paper.
Hai!ku Japanese Kanji combines a guide to the most common characters, mnemonics based on images, and fun haiku to help you remember the meanings and pronunciation of each character. The creators offer an original approach, proposing their own names and associations for the key elements of some characters and definitely modernizing some of them – but if you are looking for quick and pleasant learning experience, this can be a big advantage. The layout of the book promotes repetition – the definitions of individual characters can be found on the back of the page, and the nice pictures and colors will appeal to both younger and older students.
