Minimalistic, multifunctional, and often taking on peculiar shapes, jutaku fascinates architecture lovers all over the world, but few know what are the reasons of their characteristic look. In the introduction, the author briefly introduces the situation of the Japanese real estate market, explaining where the tiny plots of land of strange shapes come from, forcing the shape of houses and inspiring architects to implement very unusual solutions.
The album features photos of several hundred Japanese microhouses, sorted by region in which they are located. Curiously, you will find information comparing the size of the house to others contained in the book, as well as specifying the percentage of the plot they occupy. Everything here has been packed in a compact, aesthetic and functional form – one could be tempted to say that it was inspired by jutaku designs.
