An anthology containing 25 Japanese short stories, chosen by the editor and translator Ivan Morris. The stories selected are a perfect representation of the short form in Japanese literature between the end of 19th till the first of half of 20th century. In the book, you can find the most popular stories by Japanese literary giants – Tanizaki, Akutagawa, but also lesser known, but equally fabulous titles. The collection is illustrated by Masakazu Kuwata’s woodblock prints.
