For many, memorizing vocabulary is the most tedious part of learning any language. The problem is not only finding time or motivation, but also finding a sensible way to make use of this new vocabulary. That’s why I like the system proposed in My Weekly Korean Vocabulary – you’ll find dozens of generic words / phrases here, with a day-by-day study plan, but what’s most useful here is the practical examples of how to use them.
For example, when you learn the words “듣다”, “listen”, you also learn 20 examples of use – from beginner expressions (“listen to music”) to advanced ones (“I wish I had listened to my mother back then”).
It is also a great way to review grammar structures and other vocabulary, as the words and grammatical constructions used are listed next to each example. However, you will not find any detailed explanation on the grammatical structures used here, so this aspect requires separate practice through, for example, TalkToMeInKorean main textbook series.
As is the case with all titles published by TalkToMeInKorean, you can listen to the audio material spoken by native speakers on their website to practice your pronunciation and listening skills. After finishing the book, we encourage you to study with the second part, My Weekly Korean Vocabulary Book 2.
