Koki Oguma is a Japanese artist who loves to wander around his neighborhood in Tokyo and observe the people he encounters. Later, at home, he transfers his observations and impressions to paper, sketching and scribbling. From the lines and shapes created in this way emerge humorous, absurd, but extremely warm stories. If you let ourselves delve into the book, you will meet Mrs. Isuyo, who decides to let the chair rest and puts it in her lap. Mrs. Danko, who, out of love for stairs, builds a house with an endless number of steps. Mr. Naganuma, who silently eats a woman’s shadow to drive away her sadness. And many other equally intriguing personalities.
I would love to live in a neighborhood like this!
