Anyone who is even slightly interested in Japanese contemporary art knows the name of Yayoi Kusama. Even more people associate her paintings or installations with polka dots, partially thanks to cooperation with well-known fashion houses. But as the retrospective of Kusama’s art shows – she has a whole variety of fantastic works to her credit: from sketches, through oil paintings, collages, sculptures and performances with painting on the bodies of models.
There is probably no better album at the moment, certainly none that would bring Kusama’s person closer and chronologically show the development of her work in such a great way. Here you will find reproductions of her paintings, photos from events, clippings from press articles, essays on her art, summaries of her most important exhibitions.
A great retrospective of one of the most interesting personalities of contemporary art, but also a brilliant source of inspiration for everyone who is fascinated by Kusama’s obsessive work.
