A heart-warming story written in the perspective of an 8 year old boy – about his infatuation in the “Ms Ice Sandwich’, a lady selling sandwiches in a mall. She is often being made fun of by other people – but to this little boy her big eyes in a heavy blue make-up are not fun, but purely fascinating. And so he visits the mall almost everyday to get an egg sandwich and watch the lady work.
Ms Ice Sandwich translated by Louise Heal Kawai is a story of growing-up and solitude. Melancholic and charming, perfect match with a cup of tea (and a sandwich!).
