Kobayashi Issa
Issa Kobayashi (1763-1828) – Japanese author, haikai poet.
His poetic work shows the dramatic life of a poor man of strong and passionate nature. It is thus different from other haikai and is therefore called Issa style poetry. It is characterized by sympathy for the suffering peasants, pathos, anger, but also a sense of humor.
