Shiori Itō

Shiori Itō is a journalist, reporter and movie maker. She worked with major press agencies from all over the world. In 2017 she publicly spoke that two years ago she was raped by a well-established journalist, Noriyuki Yamaguchi. Itō shared her experience of abuse in Black Box (pol. Czarna skrzynka) which later paved the way for the #MeToo movement in Japan. Time Magazine put her on the TIME:100 list of most influential people in 2020 for her work for women.

Czarna skrzynka was translated by Karolina Bednarz and Dominika Błażyca, and published by Tajfuny in Februrary 2024. It is the first title opening a new series of non-fiction literature.
