ko ko thett is one of the most popular Burmese poets, currently living abroad and writing both in English and Burmese – in this poetry collection you will find several poems in two languages. Poems from Bamboophobia are diverse not only in terms of form but also their topics: there is corporality, love and Myanmar. Some of the verses are bitter, some come with a touch of humour.
Not all of the texts resonate with me, but there were fragments that caught my attention. I remembered the poems set in Burmese context, like Let us suppose you love me, from which the title Bamboophobia derives.
